Top start-up hubs revealed
They've looked at 180 hubs across the continent, some 25 countries in all.
So which start-up hub is the best this year?
The venerable Pink ‘Un’, the Financial Times as it’s better known, has for the third year drawn up lists that rank Europe’s start-ups according to set criteria.
They’ve looked at 180 hubs across the continent, some 25 countries in all.
To be included in the list, an incubator has to have been around since, have a physical location in Europe and boast at least one incubation or acceleration programme.
In drawing up the tables, the FT and its research team listened to investors, entrepreneurs and academics.
Past participants were also asked how well the hubs provided mentoring and training, infrastructure, legal assistance and networking and funding opportunities.
The top three are all based in Germany.
Top of the pile is Munich-based UnternehmerTUM.
It’s the third time in pole position for this incubator which was founded in 2002 and has nurtured more than 1,000 companies.
In second place was another Munich-based outfit, Start2 Group, and in third was BayStartUP, operating out of Nuremburg.
